How we use your information

Information we collect  
To process your Application Your contact details and information relating to your employment. education and personal background.  Further personal information may also be provided in your application documents
To review equality of opportunity  Diversity information
To monitor our pathways to recruitment and the effectiveness of our online advertisements  Your device's IP address (as explained in our cookie notice)
 

If you are successful in your application, further information will be requested from you. 


Why we need your personal data
It is a legitimate interest of the Bank to recruit and retain a workforce with the skills and experience required. For this reason, even if your application is unsuccessful your information may continue to be held as part of our talent pool and as part of the application process you can indicate whether you would like us to share your CV and application information with other hiring managers.

We request your diversity information, including any disabilities, as we believe it is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest to identify or keep under review the existence or absence of equality of opportunity. Should your application be successful we may process this information for additional employment purposes.

If you do not provide information marked as mandatory, then we cannot assess your application.

What we do with your personal data
We assess applications and, if you are successful, we will use your contact details to arrange an interview.

For some applications, we will share your contact details with Korn Ferry Hay Group who will administer employment-related tests on behalf of the Bank. You can view Korn Ferry Hay's Group privacy notice here


For some applications, we will share your personal information with our recruitment partner, Penna, who will review applications, test results, and be your primary contact on behalf of the Bank. You can review Penna's privacy policy here.

The data is also processed by a third party platform provider. You can view Oracle Corporation's privacy policy here.

All applicants
Your personal data will be kept for 2 years after your last active session. During this period, you may be alerted to new available roles. After this period your profile will be deleted. If you are no longer interested in being considered for new roles please contact AskHR@bankofengland.co.uk.

Your rights
You have a number of rights under data protection laws. For example, you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data the Bank holds about you. This is known as a ‘Subject Access Request’. You can ask us to change how we process or deal with your personal data, and you may also have the right in some circumstances to have your personal data amended or deleted.
